Project Partners: Fullcircle nw CIC & Computing Reddy
Filmmaker: Fraser Oxlee
Funded by: The National Lottery Community Fund
Supported by: Oldham Council & Chadderton Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board
At Fullcircle, we believe that young people should have the opportunity not only to have their voices heard but to actively shape the communities in which they live.
Our Pride, Our Place is a short documentary created by members of our Chadderton Youth Voice Group through a partnership between Fullcircle and Computing Reddy, with funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Working alongside filmmaker Fraser Oxlee, the young people learned the fundamentals of filmmaking, including camera operation, lighting, sound recording, framing and interviewing techniques. They then put these new skills into practice by planning interviews, capturing stories and creating a documentary that celebrates everything they value about Chadderton.
The film explores what Chadderton means to the people who live, work and volunteer here. Through conversations with residents, businesses, volunteers and community leaders, our young people have captured stories of pride, belonging and hope for the future.
Why Youth Voice Matters
For us, Youth Voice is about much more than asking young people for their opinions. It is about creating genuine opportunities for them to work alongside local organisations, decision-makers and the wider community to influence decisions, co-produce ideas and help shape the future of Chadderton.
Our Pride, Our Place is a wonderful example of what can happen when young people are trusted, supported and empowered to lead. Their ideas, creativity and perspectives are not only valuable, but they are also essential in building stronger communities.
Chadderton Pride in Place
This project forms part of the wider Chadderton Pride in Place programme, bringing together residents, community groups, businesses, local organisations and public services to celebrate everything that makes Chadderton special while working together to create positive change.
By ensuring that young people’s voices are part of these conversations, we are helping to build a community where everyone can contribute and belong.

Our thanks also go to Oldham Council, the Chadderton Pride in Place Board and The National Lottery Community Fund for their continued support in making this project possible.
