Partnership Work – Creating Positive Change

In response to rising anti-social behaviour and the growing presence of young people in local green spaces, we partnered with Oldham Youth Service, Oldham Athletic Community Trust to open the doors of Yew Tree and offer a youth club for ages 11-18.

The Senior youth club provides a safe space for young people to connect with trusted adults, learn new skills, develop their creativity, teamwork, leadership, and communication abilities, and simply have fun with their peers.

Due to funding challenges, Fullcircle initially staffed the senior youth club on a volunteer basis. Thanks to the support of the One Oldham Fund, we were able to continue offering this valuable program for 10 weeks.

With funding from Action Together One Oldham Fund, we delivered a weekly senior youth club in Chadderton, engaging 20-30 young people each week. We offered a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, discussions, team challenges, games, outdoor sports, table tennis, pool, and more.

The funding enabled us to hire a qualified youth worker and cover the room rental costs for 10 sessions at Yew Tree Club. During this 10-week period, we engaged a total of 32 individuals in open access positive activities.

Our partnership approach has provided young people with increased opportunities, as they have access to a diverse group of staff with different experiences, knowledge, and skill sets.
