Empowering Communities, One Step at a Time

Coronavirus Community Support

Thanks to funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, we were able to adapt our services to meet the needs of young people during the pandemic.

While we were unable to resume our junior youth club sessions as planned due to ongoing restrictions, we found creative ways to connect with the children and young people in our community.

During the Christmas school holidays, Fullcircle staff visited 50 young people at their homes once a week. We delivered Christmas activity packs and provided packed lunches, generously donated by a local business. These visits offered opportunities for informal welfare checks and conversations. We also invited young people and their families to visit the youth centre for food and social interaction, allowing us to identify any issues or concerns and offer support or referrals.

The “Home Visits” initiative achieved significant outcomes:

Engaging activities: We provided activities and equipment that stimulated and encouraged children to take on new challenges, fostering skill development and learning.

Mental health support: Our welfare checks offered a safe space for children to talk to trusted adults, seek advice, and receive guidance during a time of isolation.

Nutritional support: We provided healthy packed lunches to address the needs of young people and their families.

Through our “Home Visits” program, Fullcircle demonstrated our commitment to supporting young people during challenging times and ensuring their well-being.
