In collaboration with the Greater Manchester Youth Federation (GMYF), we organised an unforgettable weekend adventure for ten girls aged 10-14 from Chadderton South.
In July 2024, the girls embarked on a thrilling journey to Ormside Mill in Cumbria. Led by Ethan, the Outdoor Adventure Education Coordinator at GMYF, our youth workers designed a weekend packed with exciting activities, including ghyll scrambling, high ropes, archery, canoeing, and bushcraft.
Thanks to the generous support of Chadderton South Labour Councillors, we were able to cover the costs of Fullcircle staff, meals, and volunteer support, making this adventure possible.
The Ormside Mill residential provided an unforgettable experience for the girls, many of whom were away from home for the first time. The weekend fostered significant personal growth, boosting their confidence and self-esteem. The girls also formed strong bonds, creating lasting friendships.
Demonstrating their dedication to giving back, the girls successfully raised £700 for Fullcircle youth activities through their high rope challenge. This remarkable achievement highlights their community spirit and commitment to making a positive impact.
One participant expressed the profound impact of the trip, declaring ghyll scrambling “the best day of her life.” This statement encapsulates the transformative nature of the experience and its ability to create lasting memories.
